The social context of technologies
Technological innovation is continuously challenging companies and institutions and at the same time it is making new potentials and prospects accessible. Through our research in innovation we provide solutions and perspectives bringing technology and people together.
In the Innovation Division our starting point is technological innovations treated in a social and human context. Technology should never be viewed in isolation as it is always part of a larger technical and societal systems. Our research focus on the interaction between technology, systems and people.
Our research areas are management from project to overall strategic level. We are interested in risk and resilience, design thinking, performance management and the diffusion, implementation and acceptance of new technologies. We have a special focus on digitalization and the interplay with human behavior and ethical aspects.
We train future engineers to understand and handle technology in the social context and strengthen their competencies to manage technological innovations to benefit society.
We strive for highest internationally level and collaborate with leading universities and partners from industry and public institutions within the sectors such as healthcare, welfare, production and construction.
